Minot Man Arrested After Domestic Disturbance and Threats to Police

On Sunday, May 18, at approximately 6:01 p.m., the Minot Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in northwest Minot.

According to authorities, Minot Central Dispatch received a call from a woman who reported that Jeffrey Weigel, 38, of Minot, had threatened to kill her and any responding law enforcement officers. The caller ended the call shortly after. Officers attempted to re-establish contact but were unsuccessful. An investigation was launched to assess the situation and ensure the safety of those involved.

Due to concerns for the caller’s safety, officers obtained a search warrant and requested assistance from the Minot S.W.A.T. team to carry out the operation.

Weigel was taken into custody without incident. The woman involved was located and found to be physically unharmed.

Weigel is facing charges of Terrorizing (Class C Felony) and Felonious Restraint (Class C Felony). He was transported to the Ward County Jail.
