Law enforcement officers in Minot apprehended a fugitive and seized a significant quantity of narcotics following a surveillance operation on February 18, according to a statement from the Minot Police Department.
Authorities identified the suspect as David G. Watson, 42, of Minot, who had two active felony warrants—one for fleeing law enforcement and another for federal probation revocation. The Ward County Narcotics Task Force tracked Watson to a gas station in southwest Minot, where officers attempted to block his vehicle to prevent escape. Watson then put his vehicle in reverse, striking two law enforcement vehicles. Officers successfully stopped the vehicle and took Watson into custody without further incident.
During a search of Watson, officers discovered 243 grams of methamphetamine, 1,100 fentanyl pills marked “M30,” and U.S. currency suspected to be proceeds from narcotics sales.
Watson is facing multiple charges, including:
– Possession with Intent to Distribute – Methamphetamine over 50 grams (Class A Felony)
– Possession with Intent to Distribute – Fentanyl over 40 grams (Class A Felony)
– Reckless Endangerment (Class B Misdemeanor)
Authorities emphasized that this arrest is part of ongoing efforts by local and federal law enforcement agencies to combat drug-related crimes and enhance public safety.
