Minot Woman Arrested After Infant Tests Positive for Methamphetamine

A Minot woman has been arrested following an investigation into suspected drug exposure involving her infant child, according to a statement released by the Minot Police Department on June 17, 2025.
The investigation began on May 28, 2025, when Ward County Social Services requested a hair follicle test for a four-month-old child due to concerns of possible drug exposure. On June 3, the Minot Police Department was informed that the child had tested positive for methamphetamine.
The child was living with his mother, identified as 35-year-old Brenna Marie-Chante Jones. Following further investigation by police, the child was removed from the home. During questioning, Jones denied exposing the child to narcotics.
On June 5, an arrest warrant was issued for Jones on a charge of Endangerment of a Child or Vulnerable Adult, classified as a Class C felony. Later that evening, Minot Police executed a search warrant at her residence and took Jones into custody without incident.
On June 6, investigators obtained a search warrant for a hair follicle test on Jones. The results confirmed that she also tested positive for methamphetamine.
