Minot, N.D. – As the MI-7–Roosevelt Park and Zoo phase of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection Project (MREFPP) continues construction into the fall—and with many league plays completed for the season—the park will be closed for the season on Monday, September 8.
There has been a lot of progress made on this project over the past four months: levee placement, flood wall footings poured, much of the flood wall panels installed, and utility work in both the park and zoo completed—despite a wet spring and summer.
To ensure all fall work is completed before winter, it’s best to reduce pedestrian and vehicle traffic in the park. This will allow crews to safely and efficiently complete larger construction projects and move items within the park to prepare for the next phase of construction.
Effective Monday, September 8, the pickleball courts and park entrance will be closed to the public. This decision is made in the interest of public safety and to support the project team’s ability to meet critical deadlines for overall project completion.
