Norsk Høstfest Splits With Epic Events, 2024 Festival Will Go On

Since the news of Epic Companies collapse almost two weeks ago, questions about the future of the Norsk Høstfest have been a part of many local conversations. For the past two years, Epic Events has provided event management services for the Høstfest.

Today at a news conference Høstfest President John Mackner cleared the air. The 2024 festival will go on as scheduled; this year’s event will be self-managed, and the Board has offered positions to former Epic employees who are located in Minot.

Mr. Mackner highlighted the events long history in Minot, it’s importance to the community, and the Board’s commitment to seeing the event remain a centerpiece of Minot’s cultural heritage traditions. “Our board of directors had an opportunity to step back and reevaluate the importance of Høstfest to our community and region, and we are excited to take the lead in management of Høstfest 2024. We are totally committed to this annual celebration of Scandinavian heritage and culture, and we are steadfast in our belief the 2024 festival can be the best event ever. We also want to acknowledge the critical role of our sponsors, donors, vendors and volunteers. We greatly appreciate their shared commitment and continued support,” he said.

Those wishing to support the event either through volunteering or enjoying the a day at the event are encouraged to get int touch through the Høstfest website or purchase a ticket.

Part of Mr. Mackner’s closing message was a request, “…trust in the direction, trust in the future. We have a Board that’s very committed to the work. We are here for Minot. We are here for the festival. We want to see it go on. We want to see it continue, we want to see it progress.”
