Woman Arrested for Child Abuse in Minot Incident

On March 3, at approximately 4 p.m., the Minot Police Department responded to reports of a child being assaulted inside a parked vehicle at a business in southwest Minot. Officers located the vehicle shortly after receiving the report and initiated an investigation.

Authorities determined that an 11-year-old juvenile had been struck multiple times in the face and choked by their guardian. The child’s injuries were consistent with witness statements.

As a result, Adrienna Maria Meyer, 31, of Brooksville, Florida, was arrested for Child Abuse, a B Felony, and transported to the Ward County Jail. Two children were placed in the care of Ward County Social Services.

Officials encourage individuals to report suspected child abuse or neglect to the state’s Central Intake Unit. In emergencies, local law enforcement should be contacted immediately.
