Minot High in the Hunt for Five State Championships Today

There’s something in the air today, and it isn’t the smoke. It’s the buzz about the conclusion of the spring athletic season at Minot High.

Five state championships will be decided before the day is over, and Minot High is in the mix for every one of them. Here’s the breakdown.

Girls Tennis

The Minot High Girls Tennis team already wrapped up a perfect season by capturing the North Dakota state team championship on Thursday. The individual and doubles tournaments finish today starting with semi-finals match-ups this morning followed by title matches this afternoon.

In the doubles tournament, we’ll be rooting for Minot High’s Grace Olson and Lila Olson; in the singles tournament, both Ava Thuner and Kyllie Fettig are playing in opposite semi-final matches. Girls Soccer

The Majette soccer team has played it’s way into the championship match in West Fargo. Minot High will take on the team from Mandan who upset the East’s top-seeded Grand Forks Red River on Friday. The match is at 3:30 p.m. Tournament results can be found here and live-streamed with a WDAY+ subscription.

Girls Softball

In another all-West championship match-up, Minot High will take on Williston to decide state’s top team in Class A Girls Softball. First pitch is at noon from Albrecht field in Grand Forks. Tournament results can be found here and the game can be live-streamed via WDAY+

Boys Baseball

First pitch in the Boys Class A Baseball championship games is at 2:00 p.m. from Kraft Field in Grand Forks. The Magicians will match up against the team from West Fargo Sheyenne. Tournament results can be found here, and once again, WDAY+ is the source for the live-stream.
