At 6:27 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, the Minot Fire Department was dispatched to the 3100 block of 11th Avenue SE for reports of a mobile home on fire.

Crews arrived on scene six minutes later, at 6:33 a.m., and found heavy flames coming from the front bedroom of the residence. Firefighters deployed a handline and entered the home to extinguish the fire, while additional crews conducted a search to ensure no occupants were inside.

The fire was quickly extinguished and contained in the room of origin. Unfortunately, two cats were found deceased in that room. After the fire was extinguished, fire crews ventilated the structure and confirmed that the blaze was contained to the room of origin.

The scene was turned over to the State Fire Marshal’s Office for further investigation. One resident and four dogs were displaced for the weekend. No injuries were reported.

One Battalion Chief, one ladder truck, and four engines responded to the call.
