MINOT — INSPIRITUS Community Health Foundation celebrated regional nonprofits Thursday, Nov. 13, by awarding $191,886.80 in community grants at its Regional Community Grant Awards Luncheon at the Sleep Inn and Suites in Minot.
The grants support projects that strengthen the mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being of residents across 11 counties in North Central North Dakota. Funded efforts include Ojibwa week programming, community resource centers and food pantries, accessibility improvements, pregnancy and parenting support, senior meals and transportation, youth camp scholarships, public safety and emergency services, mental health initiatives, and more.
At the same event, the foundation announced it will make $536,800 in Twice Blessed grants available through its year-end matching program. Beginning Nov. 15, INSPIRITUS will match eligible contributions up to $518,300 for 94 approved agencies and food pantries through Dec. 31. Donors can give through twiceblessednd.com, with both campaign gifts and endowment contributions counting toward an organization’s match. Qualifying endowment gifts may also be eligible for a 40% North Dakota tax credit.
“We are especially thankful and grateful to the many organizations, board members, staff and volunteers who work tirelessly in our region to secure a better quality of life by identifying and serving the needs in their communities,” said Shelly Weppler, president of INSPIRITUS Community Health Foundation.
Formed in 1998 as an independent 501(c)(3) community foundation, INSPIRITUS has awarded more than $15.5 million in grants to support quality-of-life projects throughout North Central North Dakota.
