Steinbach Manitoba’s composting program has quietly grown into a cornerstone of its waste strategy, and city leaders say it’s only gaining momentum. A recent report shows steady participation, keeping organics out of the landfill and returning finished compost to residents each spring. The city is now looking ahead, including the possibility of curbside collection—though the current site is already at capacity. With rebates coming in, a new recycling contract approved, and provincial changes on the horizon, Steinbach is trying to build a cleaner system that grows with the community.
