Fargo spends $372K on protective barriers for future city events

Fargo is taking a proactive step to keep its community safe during public events, like parades and concerts, by introducing modular vehicle barriers. This $372,000 investment, funded by a new public safety sales tax, aims to safeguard areas with high pedestrian traffic from potential vehicle attacks. The barriers, easily deployed without special equipment, will debut at the Fargo Street Fair.

With the recent attack in New Orleans, Fargo’s initiative represents an additional service and cost more and more cities are likely to tack on. Will Minot?
