Smarty Jones is finally heading to the Hall of Fame. Just days before this year’s Kentucky Derby, it was announced that the beloved Pennsylvania-bred colt — who captured hearts in 2004 with wins in the Derby and Preakness — will be inducted into the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame. His thrilling underdog story, marked by record-setting victories and an unforgettable Triple Crown chase, will now be forever enshrined alongside the legends of the sport.
The 151st running of the Kentucky Derby will be held Saturday, May 3rd. If you’d like to learn more about this year’s National Museum of Racing HOF inductees, here’s the news release.
