Bank of North Dakota planning debt refinancing program to help ag producers
North Dakota’s state-owned bank is stepping in as the farm economy struggles under mounting pressure. With high interest rates, low commodity prices, and rising costs squeezing producers, the Bank of North Dakota is crafting a disaster relief program to help farmers and ranchers refinance debt and stay afloat. Officials say the effort aims to support producers whether or not federal aid comes through.
