Fatal Crash in Williston Claims Life of Montana Motorcyclist

WILLISTON, N.D. – A 20-year-old Montana man was killed in a crash Saturday evening after a pickup truck failed to yield at an intersection in Williston.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 5:14 p.m. at the intersection of 2nd Avenue West and 2nd Street West. The victim, who was riding a 2020 Yamaha off-road motorcycle westbound on 2nd Street West, collided with an eastbound 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 that was attempting to turn onto 2nd Avenue West.
The motorcyclist, identified as a resident of Poplar, Montana, suffered fatal injuries and was transported to Trinity Hospital in Minot, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities confirmed he was not wearing any restraints.
The driver of the Dodge Ram, 46-year-old Maverick Stanton of Williston, was uninjured in the crash. He was arrested at the scene for driving under the influence.
Multiple agencies responded to the incident, including the North Dakota Highway Patrol, Williston Police Department, Williams County Sheriff’s Office, and Williston Fire and Ambulance.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation.
