A 48-year-old Minot man has died after being hit by a pickup truck while crossing East Burdick Avenue earlier this month.

Tristan John Wanner was walking westbound in a marked crosswalk in front of the Ward County District Courthouse on the evening of Dec. 14 when he was struck by a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. The driver, a 44-year-old woman, was turning left from East Burdick Avenue onto 3rd Street SE and failed to yield, according to the Minot Police Department.

Wanner was transported to Trinity Hospital with life-threatening injuries and died four days later on Dec. 18.
The case has been submitted to the Ward County State’s Attorney’s Office for review. No charges have been filed, and police have not released the driver’s name.
