Minot Man Arrested for Domestic Violence and Related Charges

On January 6, 2025, at approximately 5:05 p.m., officers from the Minot Police Department responded to a report of a physical domestic disturbance at a residence in northwest Minot.

The victim was able to leave the residence in her vehicle before officers arrived and met with law enforcement at a separate location. Following an investigation, officers established probable cause to arrest 41-year-old Beibut A. Shumenov, of Croatia, for multiple offenses, including Domestic Violence Bodily Injury, Terrorizing, and Felonious Restraint.

When officers located Shumenov at the residence, they attempted to have him exit voluntarily by issuing commands. Shumenov refused to comply, prompting officers to obtain a search warrant. At approximately 7:42 p.m., officers executed the warrant and took Shumenov into custody without incident.

Shumenov was formally charged with the following offenses:
– Domestic Violence Bodily Injury (First Offense) – Class B Misdemeanor
– Terrorizing – Class C Felony
– Felonious Restraint – Class C Felony

He is currently in custody at the Ward County Jail awaiting his initial court appearance.
