An 88-year-old man from Bottineau died Friday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 83 and Highway 37. The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports the collision occurred around 4:55 p.m. on November 28, as snow and wind created icy, wet road conditions.

According to investigators, the man was driving a Toyota Camry east on Highway 37 when he stopped at the intersection and then entered Highway 83, where his vehicle was struck on the driver’s side by a southbound Hyundai Santa Cruz. The Camry came to rest in the east ditch, and its driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 32-year-old Tioga woman driving the Hyundai was taken to CHI St. Alexius Health in Garrison for treatment. The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
