Students, parents respond to North Dakota school cellphone ban
North Dakota students are heading back to school under a new rule that’s sparking mixed feelings: a statewide ban on cellphones in public school buildings from bell to bell. Starting August 1, phones must be out of sight—even during lunch and passing periods—except for medical needs or disabilities. While some parents worry about emergency communication, educators see the law as a way to cut distractions and refocus classrooms.
