Carbon removal is moving from theory to test runs on the Prairies, and southwest Manitoba is squarely in the spotlight. After launching a pilot plant near Innisfail, Alberta, Montreal-based Deep Sky is now eyeing Westman for one of the world’s largest direct air capture facilities, a $200 million project that would pull CO₂ from the air and store it deep underground.
