North Dakota’s public colleges are seeing something many states would envy: growth. New enrollment numbers show more than 47,000 students across the University System, including online learners and high schoolers earning dual credit. What stands out most is the freshman bump — an eight-percent increase at a time when many states face steep declines. Leaders credit North Dakota’s demographics, but they’re also hoping the system’s academic offerings are part of the draw. And the momentum is strongest among high school students, where dual-credit participation is up 17 percent.
