Public Notice: Rash of Overdoses Spur Minot Police Public Communication

Public Alert: Recent overdose incidents.

In the past 24 hours, the Minot Police Department has responded to three non-fatal drug overdoses. Today, during our continued investigation, we unfortunately uncovered a fatal overdose believed to be connected to the incidents from yesterday.

We have reason to believe that the narcotics involved were either misrepresented or laced with unknown substances, making them especially dangerous.

We remain committed to responding to these situations—providing life-saving medical assistance, working to connect individuals with treatment resources, and investigating these cases to hold those responsible accountable.

Know the law, save a life. The Good Samaritan Law protects individuals who call for help during an overdose. To be immune from prosecution, you must:

1) Call 911
2) Remain onsite until assistance arrives
3) Cooperate with law enforcement and emergency medical service personnel
